Century City Medical Plaza completely upgraded their parking equipment and processes to accommodate their tenants’ increasing demands for parking, including the newly re-opened Century City Doctors Hospital, a full-service 178-bed acute-care center boasting of world-class medical care and luxury amenities that includes a level of personal service most often associated with five-star hotels. It was time for an upscale parking experience.

By providing resident and visiting physicians with automatic vehicle identification (AVI) tags they increased vital lane throughput during peak hours. By converting to a complete valet and valet-assist operation they were able to increase available parking spaces to 750 vehicles. By implementing Secom’s new, fast valet vehicle retrieval system (VRS) they reduced wait times for vehicles from an average of 20 minutes down to less than four minutes. The two entrance lanes dispense three-part valet tickets and the two exit lanes are equipped with fully automated ticket acceptors that can handle exception payment either by credit card or by Roving CashierTM. Visitors can pay for their parking at one of two central registers or at the convenient pay-on-foot station, located in the elevator lobby on the first level of the structure. All validations and validation coupons are handled electronically, significantly increasing the revenue collection from these instruments.
